Athanasios Diamantopoulos

Dr. Athanasios Diamantopoulos is a Consultant Clinical and Interventional Radiologist at the at Guy's and St Thomas' Foundation NHS Trust Hospital (GSTT) in London. He is also an Honorary Reader in Interventional Radiology at King's College London and serves as the Deputy Lead for Research and Development for Clinical Imaging and Medical Physics at GSTT.

He has authored/co-authored over 110 peer-reviewed scientific papers (H-index: 27, 2,237 citations as per SCOPUS) and several book chapters, and he is a frequent speaker at national and international conferences. Dr. Diamantopoulos has been a primary investigator or co-investigator in numerous research projects, both public and commercial, including co-applicant of NIHR research projects and European Research projects such as an Horizon 2020 call. He was awarded the Fellowship of the Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology Society of Europe (FCIRSE) and is an active member of both the British Society of Interventional Radiology (BSIR) and the Cardiovascular & Interventional Radiology Society of Europe (CIRSE), holding various elected positions, including roles in the Research and Membership Committees.

Dr. Diamantopoulos' research focuses on endovascular management of vascular disease and innovative device development for patient care. He is a pioneer in new endovascular therapies for complex arterial diseases a keen teacher and researcher.
